Our district

Schöneweide (part of Köpenick, where Willi 29 and HTW are located) was Europe's largest industrial area until World War I (AEG, Siemens, and later Kabelwerk Oberspree - KWO, Transformatorenwerk - TRO, Werk für Fernsehelektronik - WF...). The many clinker and brick buildings still bear witness to these glorious times. Currently, these buildings are used for studios, start-ups and the HTW, which attracts young people. Schöneweide, which is undergoing major changes, is very reminiscent of the early 1990s districts of Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain and their transformation..
